                                Kent County Council is seeking expressions of interest from experienced companies to produce oak signposts which will be installed at various points along the North Downs Way National Trail. They  will be looking for quality signs befitting a National Trail that will provide a legacy for many years to come.
                                 
                                The North Downs Way National Trail is the premier walking route in Kent and Surrey. It runs for 153 miles from Farnham in Surrey through the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs Areas of Outstanding National Beauty (AONBs) to Dover in Kent with a loop taking in Canterbury. With the Trail having recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary, the decision has been taken to improve the signage in Kent.   Oak fingerposts will be installed at every part of the route in Kent where the Trail leaves the public highway and goes onto public rights of way.
                                 
                                In total 180 fingerposts will be required, most of which will be 2 finger, but there will be 3 and 4 finger combinations also. 
                                 
                                The contract will start in October 2009 and the fingerposts will need to be delivered to a pre-arranged schedule after this time.

                                The authority has a responsibility to ensure Kent has a highly skilled and professional children’s workforce, including multi-agency partners in order to support the achievement and development of all children and young people in Kent, particularly the most vulnerable in our society.  The authority offers a CPD programme addressing key national and local priorities meeting the needs of the Children’s Services workforce in Kent.  
                                   
                                The solution we are requiring will need to support the management, administration, communication and marketing of events with the ability to link with financial systems used by Kent County Council.   The solution will need to provide organisations and individual staff the ability to track professional development, support the performance review process, monitor and evaluate development targets and report on progress and impact to local and national partners.  The aim is to use web based technology to service our customers who are employed in our 600 schools and 750 Early Years Settings as well as Governors, Network Childminders, Social Care Workers and Health Workers along with some private, voluntary and independent sector staff.
